Judging Criteria

 Stage 1: Join

Idea Submissions Due: August 7th, 2022

Judges: Each Sponsor + the Crypto Research and Design Lab will short-list the idea submissions that will move to stage 2.

At the end of Stage 1, participants will select the chains they will submit their idea to and then chains will select 10-20 projects to shortlist. CRADL will select an additional 1-3 projects per chain. Submissions for all themes will be evaluated using the same judging criteria.

Judging Criteria

  • Human Understanding: Is there a clear definition and deep understanding of the target customer and hyperlocal use case(s)?
  • Social Impact*:* Does the team demonstrate understanding of the wider envrionemnt or social impact of the proposed idea within the target community and beyond? Have they considered the possible unintended consequences?
  • Value proposition: Is the value proposition clearly articulated (non-technically)?
  • Team Composition: Does the team have the relevant experience to deliver this project effectively and responsibly (and/or know what skills and experience are missing)? Is your chain able to support the team in the skills that are missing?
  • Web3 Fit: Is the project uniquely suited for web3 / blockchain-enabled technologies (or could it be solved / better solved using other technologies)?
  • Chain Fit: Is this a project that is ideal for your chain to support? Is it a project that will expand the applications of your chain?

Stage 2: Prototype

Idea Submissions Due: September 18th, 2022

Judges: To Be Announced. They will be subject matter experts in each theme, Venture Capitalists, and technical experts in Blockchain technology.

In Stage 2, the CRADL team and the Web3athon judges curated by CRADL will select the final winners per chain. Judges will also select notable winners that won’t receive prize money from a chain. Submissions for all themes will be evaluated using the same judging criteria.
